2005 Yamaha V-Star 650 Black Satin Bobber

Black Satin

This is a 2005 Yamaha V-Star 650 I purchased in December 2014. Using parts from Blue Collar Bobbers in Sandy, Utah, I began renovating this motorcycle's look. The finished bike includes:
  • 13" solo spring saddle (black saddle leather with white stitching)
  • Custom rear bobber-style fender
  • 32" powdercoated drag bar
  • Custom turn signals, running lights, and taillight inspired by 1929 Fords
  • Vertical license plate mount
  • Vance and Hines "Short Shots" exhaust pipes
  • Avon custom contour hand grips
  • Low profile bobber-style mirror
  • Custom black satin paint by SKJ Customs in St. George, Utah
This is a fun bike which has plenty of power for cruising around town and even for longer trips. (I did a 220 miler and the only discomfort was my eyes! Goggles are a MUST for anything long distance.) The Vance and Hines exhaust really allows the v-twin engine to breathe and roar, and the sound turns heads around town.

Here is a pre-build photo from the day I bought it. It is fun to see how far the bike has come!
